Esmond Nance,97, of King, passed away on Friday, March 22, 2024, at The Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, NC.
Born in Stokes County, Mr. Nance retired from King Fuel Oil Co, served in the United States Army, and was the widower of the late Mildred T. Nance. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Betty Gilbert.
Left to cherish his memories are his son, Richard Nance, and Fiancé Barbara Hall, daughter Wanda Young and husband Dale, and sisters Annie Ruth Gatewood and Barbara Booze. Also surviving are three grandchildren: Stephanie Williams and husband Eric, April Martin, and husband Jesse, and Michael Young, along with two great-grandchildren, Nicholas Collins, and Bailey Martin.
The family will receive friends on Monday, March 25, 2024, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Mount Olive Baptist Church. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on March 26, 2024, at Mount Olive Baptist Church, with Pastor Eric Hardman officiating. Interment will follow in the Mount Olive Cemetery immediately following the service.
