William Davis Hicks

King – William Davis Hicks, 66, of King, NC passed away Monday, January 6, 2020, at Woltz Hospice House with his family by his side.

William was born August 24, 1953 in Forsyth County to the late William “Bill” Davis and Ruth Freeman Hicks. He was retired from the City of King as the water plant operator. He was the widower of the late Glenda Hicks.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jimmy Hicks, and a stepson, Junior Lark.

Left to cherish his memory is his son, Brian Hicks and partner Ashley Bowman, stepdaughter, Nannette Raby, stepson, Ronald Lark, grandchildren, Abigail and Hannah Hicks, step grandchildren: Sam Killion, Nikki Collins, Monica Raby, and Honesty Lark, sisters: Sylvia Ross and Jeannie Cruz, brother-in-law, Terry Walker and wife Lynn, along with several other step grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. 

The family will receive friends and loved ones from 12:30 PM until 2:00 PM Friday, January 10, 2020 at Cornerstone Baptist Church, 116 S. Reeves Mill St. Mt. Airy, NC.  Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM officiated by Rev. Randy Money.  Interment will take place at Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church cemetery 8710 Meadowbrook Dr. Tobaccoville, NC.
