Ada Flynn O’Ferrell (August 24, 1950 – July 9, 2024)
Ada O'Ferrell, peacefully entered into heaven on July 9, 2024, while under the compassionate care of a Stokes County nursing facility. Her best friend, Rick O’Ferrell, was by her side when she passed. Although Ada and Rick were married from 1971 to 2002, their enduring friendship continued.
Born in Yadkin County, Ada was the youngest of four siblings, preceded in death by her parents, Albert Thad and Rachel White Flynn, and her brother Ricky Flynn, along with her niece Shannon. She graduated from Parkland High School in 1968 and went on to dedicate many years of her life to the Harris Printing Company, where she eventually retired.
Ada’s legacy lies in her unwavering commitment to caring for others. She selflessly loved her family and delighted in preparing special meals for them. Her desserts were a delightful surprise that brought joy to all who tasted them. She also had a talent of crocheting and enjoyed making gifts for family and friends
Left to cherish her memories are her brothers Ronny and Donny Flynn, along with Ronny's wife Sandy. Nephews and nieces include Rick Flynn, Jay Flynn, Ronny Flynn Jr., David Flynn, Jeff Flynn, Tammy McDowell, Allen Flynn and Brenda (wife) and Tommy Flynn. Her stepchildren, David O’Ferrell and Shannon Gibson, hold her close in their hearts, as do her five step-grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Additionally, she leaves behind a multitude of other loved ones and friends.
Ada's kindness, warmth, and unconditional caring will forever be remembered by those fortunate enough to have known her.
The family will receive visitors on Saturday July 27, 2024, from 2-3PM at Slate Funeral Home in King, NC.
A celebration of life will follow immediately afterward.
