Kiver was born on April 25, 1930, to Alton Ellerson (Doog) and Sally Kiser Alderman. One sister, Willa Gray Alderman also pre-deceased him. He was raised in Rural Hall, NC and attended Jefferson Christian Church since age 6. He was proud to state he was the oldest, longest living member of Jefferson. He gave selflessly to his church.
Kiver served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He volunteered for the King Volunteer Fire Department for over 30 years and was Chief for 11 of those years. He was passionate for the work performed and accomplished by the entire department during these years. Kiver was also a member of the American Legion, 40/8 and VFW.
Kiver considered himself fortunate to have been employed by Jack Daub, Gentry Brothers, Spainhour Brothers, Stokes Motor Company, and King Fuel Oil before starting Alderman Heating & Cooling in 1986. All the previous employers wanted to see Kiver succeed and do well for himself and his family.
Kiver loved Golf and loved being a member and playing his favorite course at Pilot Knob Park. He also enjoyed a lifetime of Baseball -- playing, coaching and umpiring. Kiver Alderman will long be remembered for his famous Chicken Stews!
The family would like to recognize Mountain Valley Hospice for its exceptional care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Kiver’s memory to: Mountain Valley Hospice 129 Veterans Drive Pilot Mountain, NC 27041.
