Ana Maria Gutierrez Hernandez

Ana Maria Gutierrez Hernandez, 46, of Winston-Salem, NC, passed away on Monday, August 11, 2025, at Wake Forest Baptist Health, with her family by her side.

Ana was born on September 10, 1978, in Rio Verde, San Luis Potosi, Mexico, to the late Victorio Gutierrez Garcia and Victoria Hernandez Buenrostro, who survives. Ana loved to cook, working as a Sous Chef where she could showcase her talents. She also enjoyed crocheting and was very artistic and creative. She had a green thumb and could grow any plant or flower, and she loved cats. Her special gift to the world was that she was a caring and giving person who would offer help and support to anyone in need. Her most important role in life was when she became the Best Mom ever to Angel. She was a member of the NC Congress of Latino Organizations and a member of Iglesia Cristiana Sin Fronteras.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her uncle, Esteban Buenrostro.

Left to cherish her memory is her mother, Victoria Hernandez Buenrostro; her daughter, Angel Benavides; fours sisters: Felictas Gutierrez, Josefina Lopez (German), Narly Gutierrez (Noe Diaz), and Rocio Gutierrez (Federiquo); three brothers: Marcelo Gutierrez (Elena), Eutiquio Gutierrez (Rebeca), and Eleno Gutierrez (Jeanette); her life partner, Juan Carlos Buenrostro; a nephew, Martin Vega; a niece, Valeria Vega; and a great nephew, Nathaniel Alexander Rivera; along with many beloved nieces, nephews and other family members, and her fur baby, Thomas.
