Anita Gladys (Cleapor) Johnson

Anita Gladys Cleapor Johnson, 89, of King, NC, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, with her family by her side.

Ms. Johnson was born in Burlington, NC, on August 10, 1935, to the late Nathaniel Cudworth Cleapor, Jr. and Annie Lee Martin Cleapor. She was the wife of the late Pat Johnson.

Ms. Johnson was a member of King Moravian Church, where she previously served as an Elder. She loved gardening and flowers, and she found great pleasure in reading her beloved books. She enjoyed the companionship of her fur baby, Abby; she loved all dogs. Anita was an avid Orioles baseball fan. She often reminisced fondly about the days of her youth spent in Charleston, SC.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Melissa Glenney (Bill), her son, Paul Johnson (Tara), and her grandchildren, David Glenney, Katie Glenney, Breanna Glenney, and Tyler Johnson (Molly).

A memorial service to honor her memory will be held at a later date.
