Annie Kate "Judy" (Marshall) Carroll

Annie Kate “Judy” Marshall Carroll, 77, of King, NC passed away unexpectedly at her home on August 12, 2023.

Born in Stokes County, NC to the late William Luther and Nonnie Viola Dunivant Marshall she was preceded in death by her brothers Pete, Homer and Hobert Marshall and her sisters Virginia Knight Louise Hayden, Elsie Roberts, and Ethelene East. Judy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was an active member of Stony Ridge Baptist Church.

Left to cherish her memory are husband of 33 years Brent Carroll, her son, Jeffery Whitaker and wife Lynn, stepson, Jeffrey Carroll, and wife Brandy. Sisters, Polly Boles and Nancy Martin. Also surviving are four grandchildren Logan Whitaker and wife Katlynn, Kelsey Mabe and husband Jacob and Cadee and Colton Carroll and one great granddaughter Westlynn Whitaker. Many nieces, nephews, and many precious neighbors and friends.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00pm on Monday August 14, 2023, at Slate Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on Tuesday August 15, 2023, at Boyles Chapel Primitive Baptist Church with Rev. Gerald Jones, Elder Rodney Marshall, and Rev. Jim Cohn officiating.  Judy will lie in state from 12:00 – 2:00pm in the church.
