Annie Jean Marsh Tucker, age 80, passed unexpectedly but peacefully surrounded by her family on June 6, 2024. She was born on March 19, 1944, during a blinding snowstorm in Surry County to Wilson Columbus Marsh and Sylvia Wood Marsh.
She was the best wife, mother, grandmother, mother-in-law, sister, aunt and friend you could ever hope for. Jean was a homemaker that was firm in her beliefs guided by a true servant's heart. She always placed others before herself. She loved working in her flowers, garden, canning, cooking and farming and she was always sharing her bounty with others.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents, an infant brother, a niece, a nephew, and four brother-in-laws.
Those left to carry her memory are her husband of 60 blessed years, Rayvon Tucker, daughters Rhonda (Mark) Jackson, Robin (Kevin) Amos, and son Keith Tucker. Grandchildren, Brittney (Brent) Patterson, Travis Jackson, Austin, Dalton and Wyatt Tucker. Sisters Sena (Charles) Childress, Bonnie Watson, Lois Smith, Linda Stone, and Judy Lane. Her brother Larry (Louise) Marsh and several nieces and nephews. We would be remiss if we did not mention her special and dearest friend Mycleta Burwell and her dear friends from the ‘breakfast club’ at Stratford Bar B Que.
The family will receive family and friends at Stoney Ridge Baptist Church on Monday, June 10, 2024 from 2:00 PM - 3:30 PM with service following at 3:30 PM with Pastor Jim Cox officiating. Internment will immediately follow in the church cemetery.
A very heartfelt thank you to Stokes County EMS, the ER staff and Neuro ICU team at Novant Forsyth Medical Center. We can’t thank you enough for the care and dignity you provided her during her final hours.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Stoney Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, ℅ Eric Bennett.
