KING - Mr. Arlen Kirk Priddy, 68, passed away Saturday, March 25, 2023, surrounded by his family. He was born on January 12, 1955, in Winston-Salem. He was preceded in death by his wife, Robbin Priddy (his love for over 15 years- “I sure do miss that woman”), his father, Lennie Reid, and Sandra (Mama Sandy) Priddy. His mother, Helen (Denny) and Joe Newman, his brother Hilton Priddy, and sisters Dawn Newman and Shannon Newman also preceded him in death.
He is survived by his sister and caregiver, Pam Tillman (David Kaplan), nephew Len Tillman (Hadassah, and children Gryffin, Evylen, and Emersyn) and niece Christine Lee, Robbin’s daughters Jennifer Hutchins (sons Evan and Noah) and Elizabeth Joyce Spillman (husband Blake and children Waylon, Wyatt, and Willow Robbin), Uncle Robert Williard and Aunt Ann.
He is also survived by sisters Carmon Selvey (James) and their children Victoria Tamer (Matthew), Catherine Tucker (Cory) and Tammy Newman Lindon and her children Brittni Lindon and Brandon Lindon, special friends Scott and Heather Sheets, Diana West, and Roger Kirby (Kaitlin).
Arlen always said he was a “patient patient.” Special thanks to Dr. Yacoub and Yvette, at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Hematology and Oncology of Mt. Airy, along with the wonderful staff, Arlen’s adopted sisters, Dawn, Betty, Christie, Ashley, LeeAnn, Carrie, and Jennifer. Special thanks to the LifeBrite Hospital family for their support and care during the many ER/Family Medicine clinic visits and hospital stays. Also thanks to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care for their kindness and care during Arlen’s illness.
He was a member of First Christian Church in King. He was a graduate of South Stokes High School. He retired from International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 342 and loved his work.
A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, March 28, at the First Christian Church in King with ministers Glenn VanMeter, Peter Cain, and Robert Williard. Visitation will begin at 1:30 pm prior to the memorial service.
