King – Arlene Pansy Shields Campbell, 85, of King, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 16, 2020 at Village Care of King.
Ms. Campbell was born on June 20, 1935 in Forsyth County to the late Jessie and Ruby Smith Shields. She retired as a proofreader from Josten’s Publishing. She was a member of Chestnut Grove United Methodist Church and was involved in the United Methodist Women. She was also an avid reader.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Kay Martin.
Left to cherish her memory is her daughters: Laura Grimes and husband Mike, Brenda Roth and husband Greg, Amy Sprinkle and husband Eddie, and Florence Campbell; her son, Mike Campbell and wife Brenda; sister, Carole Vernon; grandchildren: David Grimes (Kim), Chris Roth (Melissa), Hope Sprinkle (Joe McHone), Quinn Roth, Amanda Davis, and Samantha Davis; along with nine great grandchildren.
Ms. Campbell will lie in state at Slate Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 19, 2020, from 11:00 AM until 6:00 PM.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, August 20, 2020 at Chestnut Grove United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. Evelyn Lemons officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to King Outreach Ministries: P.O. Box 1450, King, NC 27021 or to the charity of your choice.
