Barbara Hauser Long Watts, 87, passed away on January 20, 2023. She was born in King, NC on October 6, 1935, to the late Madeline Hauser Long and Dewey A. Long. She lived in King all her life except for the 2 years her husband served in the US Army in El Paso, Texas. Barbara was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church in King and was very active as long as her health permitted. She served on the committee that organized the King First Baptist Child Development. Along with her parents, Barbara was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, John Harold Watts; brother-in-law Bill Watts; sister Kay Tuttle and brother in-law Marvin Tuttle; sister in-law Joanne Long. She is survived by son, Anthony (Andy) Watts and wife Beverly; daughter, Michelle Watts Castelveter; four grandchildren, Bryan Watts (Elisabeth), Ashley Watts Bannister (Jason), Lori Michelle Suess and Jonathan Dickerson; ten great grandchildren, Camden, Eliza, Stewart and Haven Watts, Knox and Kinzley Bannister, Sebastian and Alexander Suess, Murdock and Reagan Dickerson; one sister, Mary Frances Watts; two brothers, Wayne Long (Carol) and Jerry Long; two nieces and five nephews and numerous cousins. A graveside service will be held at 11am on Friday January 27, 2023, at King Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church PO Box 481 King, NC 27021 or to Hospice.
