Bertie Mae Boles Sizemore, 93, of Germanton, NC passed away on Saturday, April 23, 2022, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC.
Ms. Sizemore was born on November 19, 1928, in Stokes County, NC to the late Will and Sadie Joyce Boles. Ms. Sizemore was a homemaker, but she was also a helpmate to her husband, and they farmed tobacco together for many years. She was a lifelong member of Quaker Gap Baptist Church, a member of Quaker Gap Friendly Club and an active and founding member of the Quaker Gap community organization.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband Edwin Sizemore; and her brothers and sisters: Bobby Boles, Madeline Watts, and Jean Sutphin.
Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Joyce Sizemore Sheek (Steve); special great nieces and nephews: Ryan Hutchens, Brody Collins, and Rylee Collins; her brothers and sisters: Don Boles (Janice), Glenda Hutchens (Jimmy), Delores Lewis (Jerry), and William Boles (Pam); a brother-in-law, Richard Watts; a sister-in-law, Elnora Boles; several other nieces and nephews; step grandchildren: Derrick Sheek, and Jason Sheek (Jordan); and her special feline friends: Puddin’ and Rascal.
The family would like to extend a special “thank you” to the staff of Priddy Manor and her roommate Rhonda.
Ms. Sizemore will lie in-state on Friday, April 29, 2022, from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Quaker Gap Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, April 29, 2022, at Quaker Gap Baptist Church with Dr. Jack Darida officiating. Interment will immediately follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends and loved ones in the fellowship hall following the interment and at other times the family will be at the home of Ms. Sizemore.
