Obituary

Betty Kathryn Duggins Mickey, 74, of King, NC passed away on Sunday June 5, 2022, at Lakewood Care Center in Denver, NC.

Ms. Mickey was born on February 6, 1948, in Stokes County, NC, to the late William Clyde and Ruby Agnes Ingram Duggins. She retired from Forsyth County School System where she served as a secretary for many years. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church.  She was an avid Elvis Presley fan.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bobby Mickey, and her best friend, Judy “Bubbles” Brown.

Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Jennifer Fulp, and husband Brian; a sister, Nancy Gregory, and husband Frankie; three grandchildren: Tyler Tompkins, Dylan Fulp, and Bryce Fulp; a great-grandson, Tyler H. Tompkins; a niece Kimberly Rivers and husband John, and a great niece, Jasmine Rivers.

The family wishes to thank Lakewood Care Center of Denver, NC, staff and owners for the compassion and care they gave to Betty during her time there.

The family will receive friends and loved ones on Tuesday, June 7, 2022, from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM at Slate Funeral Home in King, NC.  Funeral services will begin at 1:00 PM with Minister Jim Miller officiating.  Interment will immediately follow at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church Cemetery.
