Betty Jean (Hunter) Tucker

King – Betty Jean Hunter Tucker, 87, of King, NC passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 1, 2023, with her beloved family by her side.

Mrs. Tucker was born on October 25, 1935, to the late Fred and Agnes Pulliam Hunter. She was the wife of the late Johnny Monroe “Bud” Tucker. She was a homemaker, that took great pride in caring for her family and helping Bud work the farm. She enjoyed quilting, crafting, and traveling. Betty was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and mother-in-law. She was a very active member of Mount Olive Baptist Church in King, NC.

In addition to her parents, and her husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Norma Tucker, and her brother, Jackie Hunter.

Left to cherish her memory are her children: Danny Tucker (Barbara), Beverly Kay Jones (Carlton), Vickie Wall (Craig), and Timothy Tucker (Teresa), her brother, Bobby Wayne Hunter (Mary), a sister, Patricia Niten, a brother-in-law, James Lee Tucker, a sister-in-law, Barbara Kimel, nine grandchildren: Amanda Farrar, Christy Bracken, Kimberly Trent, Bridgett Southern, Daniel Tucker, Britney Scott, Patrick Wall, Elliott Wall, and Nicholas Tucker, along with twenty great-grandchildren.

The family of Mrs. Tucker would like to thank Village Care, Forsyth Medical Center, and Amedisys Hospice for all their care and compassion shown to Betty during her time of need.

The family will receive friends and loved ones on Sunday, June 4, 2023, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at Mount Olive Baptist Church in King, NC.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, June 5, 2023, at Mount Olive Baptist Church with Rev. Sandra Bovender, Rev. Randy Roberts, and Rev. Stan Scott officiating. Interment will follow in the Mount Olive Cemetery.
