Billy M. Kiger, 92, of Tobaccoville, NC, passed away at Forsyth Medical Center on Thursday, August 29, 2024.
Pop was raised in Rural Hall, NC, on a farm with eight siblings, six brothers and two sisters. He is survived by his wife, Yolanda; a son, Michael (Shelia); a daughter, Renee Kiger; a son, Alexis (William); a sister, Betty; a brother, Wayne (Marie); and four grandchildren: Andrew (Christina), Nathan (Megan), Janna (Josh), Thomas (Sydney), and two great-grandsons: Levi and Judah; and two great-grandchildren on the way; along with many nieces and nephews.
Billy served in the US Army from 1953 until 1955. He retired from the US Postal Service and went into business with his oldest son, hauling dirt and stone with their dump trucks. He was a hard worker, loved Braves baseball, Wake Forest football and baseball, and watching Westerns and other movies; some of his favorites were “Jaws” and “The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly.”
Our father was an American Patriot who “did it his way.” We love you and will miss your Noise!
The family will receive friends and loved ones at Slate Funeral Home from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Sunday, September 1, 2024.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, September 2, 2024, at Jefferson Christian Church Cemetery, with Minister Steve Cook and Minister Thomas Kiger officiating.
