Bishop John Luther. DeVine, Jr., 73, A general in the faith, crossed over into the arms of his Savior Jesus Christ on December 22, 2023, at Hospice of the Piedmont in High Point, NC.
Bishop DeVine was born in Gaston County, NC on August 12, 1950, to the late John Luther DeVine, Sr. and Beula Beatrice Butler DeVine. He dedicated his life preaching to the Church of God for over 50 years, where he built six churches in the state of North Carolina. He was faithful and dedicated to his Lord and Savior. He was a member of Dallas Church of God in Dallas, NC.
Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife, Judy Smith DeVine, a son, John L. DeVine, III (Christie); four grandchildren: Bridget DeVine, Stephanie DeVine Rivera (Felix), Joshua DeVine, and Gabrielle DeVine; along with two great grandchildren: Jackson Hunter and Emma Goad.
The family will receive friends and loved ones from 5:30 pm until 6:45 pm Friday, December 29, 2023, at Dallas Church of God, 311 S. College St. Dallas, NC. Funeral services will begin at 7:00 pm with Administrative Bishop Kip Box, Bishop John L. DeVine III, Bishop Matt Gunter, and Bishop Kelly Dodson officiating. Interment will be held at Guil-Rand Memorial Park Cemetery, Saturday, December 30, 2023, at 11:00 am, with Pastor Richard Britt officiating.
