Bonnie Wilson Rutledge passed into the loving arms of Jesus on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, after a long and courageous fight with Parkinson’s.
Bonnie was born on Jan. 17, 1938, in Tobaccoville, NC. She graduated from King High School and married the love of her life, Carl Ray, on June 2, 1956. Bonnie was a lifelong member of Trinity United Methodist Church and was a faithful servant singing Alto in the Choir, participating in the Hand Bells and Women’s Circle and Prayer Shawl Committee, and crocheting and baking cakes for the church Bazaar. She was a wonderful wife, loving Mom and Nana, the best cook and hostess for all of the holidays and family birthday parties & special events. She formerly enjoyed gardening and loved flowers. She was a devoted homemaker and assisted in providing for her family by working numerous part-time jobs in retail in the King area.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Oneida Wilson, her brother Billy T. Wilson, formerly of Florida, and her beloved sister and neighbor, Betty Snow and husband Ken.
Left to cherish her memory is her devoted husband of 68 years, Carl Ray Rutledge of the home, son Mark A. Rutledge of King, daughter Pam Hilton (Chris) of Winston Salem, grandchildren Heather Nance, Lindsay Oldford, Caitlin Vance (Tyson) and Matthew Rutledge, great-grandchildren Estelle, Weston, Bryson, Emery, Ensley and Waylon, along with several special nieces, nephews, and close friends.
The family would like to thank the congregation of Trinity United Methodist Church for their prayers, visits, meals, and cards, Village Care Rehabilitation Center, NOVANT Palliative Care, Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, and caregivers Patty and Deborah.
The family will receive friends and loved ones from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 20, 2024, at Trinity United Methodist Church. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m., with Minister Duane Corle officiating.
