Brenda (Baker) Lane

King – Brenda Baker Lane, 80, of King, NC, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her loved ones on Wednesday, March 30, 2022. 

Ms. Lane was born on April 6, 1941, in Guilford County, NC, to the late Charles and Maude Meadows Baker.  She retired from Forsyth Memorial Hospital where she served as the Assistant Director of Environmental Services.  She was a faithful volunteer of King Outreach.  She was a member of First Christian Church of King.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband Arnold Lane; her sisters: Frances Stigall, Jane Smith, and Linda Young; and her brothers: Buddy Baker, and George Baker.

Left to cherish her memory is her daughters: Tamarah Demertzis and husband Steve, and Monnette Cook, two brothers: John Baker and wife Shirley, and Glen Baker and wife Angel; two grandchildren: Bridgett Brooks and husband Adam, and Rachel Ruterbories and husband Matthew; six great grandchildren: Sunni J. Shores, Isaac Shores, Cloey Cain, Bella Cain, Abel Brooks, and Darcy Ruterbories; special friends, Joyce Hobson and Phillip Crews, and a special niece, Rhonda Eaton. 

The family will receive friends and loved ones from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM Saturday, April 2, 2022, at First Christian Church of King. 

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, on Saturday, April 2, 2022, at First Christian Church of King, with Minister Glenn Van Meter and Minister Peter Cain officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
