Brenda Caron (Marshall) McKinney

Westfield – Mrs. Brenda Caron Marshall McKinney, 83, of Westfield, passed away on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at home after an extended illness. She was born on November 21, 1942, in Stokes County to the late William Vester “Doc” and Frances McKinney Marshall. Mrs. McKinney spent many years as a homemaker and was a lifelong member of Stoney Ridge Baptist Church.

Mrs. McKinney is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law, Zane and Anessa McKinney of Walnut Cove, and Chad and Ellen McKinney of Westfield; six grandchildren, Madelyn (Ty) Walser, Ella McKinney, Spencer McKinney, Connor McKinney, Lucas McKinney, and Parker McKinney; and her sister-in-law, Sylvia White. Mrs. McKinney leaves behind her beloved cat and companion, Eevie.

Mrs. McKinney was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Ray McKinney; her parents; and her sister, Judy Marshall Davis.

Services will be conducted on November 30, 2025, at Stoney Ridge Baptist Church by Rev. Jim Cox, Elder Rodney Marshall, and Dr. Jack Darida. Visitation will be at 2:00 p.m., followed by Mrs. McKinney’s celebration of life at 3:00 p.m. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Memorials may be made in floral tributes or donations to Habitat for Humanity of Stokes County. The McKinney family would like to extend a special thank you to Mountain Valley Hospice and Mrs. McKinney’s in-home caregivers: Bronna, Shena, Misty, Amber, Kim, Penny, Josie, and Adisyn.
