Brenda Sue (Amos) Steele

Brenda Amos Steele of Pinnacle passed away on August 23, 2021 at the age of 78 after a courageous battle with cancer. She went to be with the Lord and now she has a glorified body, we know she is no longer in pain.

Born and raised in Greensboro, Brenda was youngest daughter of the late William Howard Amos and Mary Williams Amos. Brenda retired from Sears after more than 25 years as a dedicated employee. Brenda, or Mooma as she was known to her grandkids and family, had a huge personality and an infectious laugh. She will be remembered by her family for her playfulness, her delicious food, and her occasional, enduring stubbornness. She liked to sew, had a green thumb with a house full of flowers and she loved her fur babies. She attended Olive Grove Baptist Church where she was known as the bubbly hat lady. She taught her family not to take themselves too seriously, how to laugh until you cry, and you can never have too many friends.  She loved her church friends and neighbors, her life long friends known to us a “card”girls.

Brenda follows her husband of 53 years, Kenneth (Poopa) Steele in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents, William and Mary Amos, and sister Rebecca Amos Stone. Left to cherish her memory is her daughter; Cheryl Susanne Steele and husband Sheldon, sons; Jerry Wayne Steele and fiancé Tina Yuenger, and Kenneth Douglas Steele. Mooma leaves behind seven grandchildren; Brandi Blevins and husband Wesley, Jason Steele and wife Kayla, Lauren Sulier and husband Josh, Jerel Vestal and wife Stephanie, Zachary Vestal, Shannon Witt and husband Thomas, Colton Steele, along with five great grandchildren. She is survived by her brother Paul Amos and wife Sandy.

A Funeral Service will be held at 12:00pm on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at Olive Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Todd E Lusk officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 11:00am interment will follow the service in the church cemetery.
