Brent Harrison Smith

Brent Harrison Smith, 71, of King, NC, passed away on Friday, July 11, 2025, at his home with his beloved wife by his side.

Brent was born in Forsyth County, NC, to the late Raymond and Ila Mae Bennett Smith on October 20, 1953. He was a man of faith and kindness. Brent loved working on his cars, but nothing brought him more joy than spending precious moments with his beloved family. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and a true friend to all who knew him.

In addition to his father, Raymond, whom he loved, and his mother, Ila, whom he cherished, he was preceded in death by his sister, Shirley Webster, and a niece, Jessica Smith.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving and devoted wife of 48 beautiful years, Janet T. Smith; his children: Lindy Nichols (Kevin), Jennifer Denny (Michael), and Andrew Smith; his grandchildren: Kiahna Nichols, Shawna Nichols, Jacob Denny (Haylie), Emily Smith, and Loralei Smith; a brother, Daryle Smith (Ginger); a special nephew, Richard Webster (Jackie); and several extended family members and friends.

The family will receive friends and loved ones from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at Slate Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Keith Lawson officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Closer Walk Baptist Church Cemetery.

Janet and the family want to thank all the wonderful, thoughtful, and caring people who supported them during Brent’s illness. They appreciated those who helped care for him, called to check on him, sent cards, and said prayers. It all meant a lot.
