Bruce Alan Harrison, 62, passed away on Monday March 22, 2021 at his home. Bruce was born on August 1, 1958 to Alice and Jack Harrison in Syracuse, New York. He was a 1976 graduate of Williamson High School. Bruce was a talented artist, loved playing games, and telling jokes. His fierce pinochle and kickball abilities will be forever missed during family gatherings. He had a sweet tooth and loved his sister Cindy’s meals and homemade jelly. His housemates and friends at the Sharpe and Williams Group Home looked out for and supported him and the MonarchNC Psycho Social Rehabilitation (PSR) day program tremendously enriched his life. Schizophrenia robbed Bruce of his ability to connect in a way that other people expected and understood, but it could not steal his grin and sly sense of humor.
Bruce is survived by a family that loved him, including his sister Cindy (Art), sister Lindy (Tom), brother Jack (Linda), brother Mark (Brenda), brother Jeff (Teresa), and many nieces and nephews. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff at The Sharpe and Williams Group Home and Monarch PSR program for their care of Bruce. Those whose lives he touched are invited to donate to the Schizophrenia and Related Disorders Alliance of America (SARDAA) or the MonarchNC PSR program in his memory.
