Bruce Hinnant Wellons

Bruce Hinnant Wellons, 83, of Tobaccoville, NC, passed away on Thursday, February 13, 2025, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice House in Winston-Salem, NC.

Mr. Wellons was born in Mt. Kisco, NY, on August 2, 1941, to the late Robert and Flora Broadway Wellons. He served in the US Air Force from 1961 – 1965. He drove for Greyhound from 1966 – 1990, then became a truck driver. He volunteered with Amtrak for over 20 years. He was a train enthusiast.

In addition to his parents, Robert and Flora Wellons, he was preceded in death by his brother, Burton C. Wellons.

Left to cherish his memory is his daughter, Rachel Wellons, his grandson, Christopher Wellons, and his brother, Frederick N. Wellons, along with other extended family members.

The family will receive friends and loved ones on Monday, February 24, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church. Funeral services will begin at 3:00 p.m. in the church sanctuary, with Rev. David Joyce officiating. Interment will immediately follow in the church cemetery.
