King, NC – Charlie “Jack” Davis Morgan, Jr., 84, of King, NC passed away on Monday, October 25, 2021, at Forsyth Medical Center after a brief illness.
Jack was born on February 15, 1937, in Forsyth County, NC, to the late Charlie Davis, Sr. and Anna Belle Martin Morgan. He was a 1957 graduate of Walkertown High School. Jack grew up as a farm boy and enjoyed farming most of his life when he wasn’t working at Hennis Freight/ Spector Red Ball.
He was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church where he served as a former Deacon and was a member of the choir. He loved doing nursing home ministry. He was an avid Atlanta Braves and UNC Tarheel fan, but Popsy's true love was watching his grandchildren play sports.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings: William J’van Morgan, Hazel Moore, Mary Louise Morgan, and Blanche James.
Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife of 62 years, Myra Boyles Morgan; two daughters: Kim Hepler (Danny), and Lori Cheek (Clark); a son, Bryan Morgan (Micki); two brothers: Don Morgan (Linda), and Wayne Morgan; four grandchildren: Malory Neal and fiancé Stephen Autry, Karli Lawson, Zoe Morgan, and Cole Morgan; great grandson, Bentley Joyce and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends and loved ones on Friday, October 29, 2021, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Mt. Olive Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, October 30, 2021, at Mt. Olive Baptist Church with Pastor Eddie Honeycutt officiating. Interment will immediately follow in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Mt. Olive Baptist Church Cemetery Fund: 5413 NC 66 Hwy. S. King, NC 27021.
