Obituary
Clyde David Ashburn, Sr., 73, of Ararat, NC passed away on Thursday, May 11, 2023, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston Salem, NC.
Born in Surry County, he was the son of the late Ernest and Ina Holoway Ashburn. Mr. Ashburn retired from Claude Golden Grading Co. as an equipment operator and attended Mount Airy Assembly of God Church.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife Barbara Poindexter Ashburn, two sons; Clyde David Ashburn, Jr., and Jerry Ashburn, one daughter; Ranzie Nelson, two brothers; Wayne and Sammy Ashburn, one sister; Carol Ashburn, also surviving are his grandchildren; Jacob and Colton Nelson, Cameron Terry, Charles Robert Becker, Jr., Amanda Danielle Barber and husband Austyn, Kiara Nicole Brewington, and Jessica Frady, also surviving are two great-grandchildren; Caleb and Paxton Barber.
The family will receive friends and loved ones from 2:00 – 3:00 PM on Sunday, May 21, 2023, at Slate Funeral Home in King, NC. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 pm with Interment following in the Anchored in Jesus Baptist Church Cemetery.
