Connie Roberta Vallier Jones, a devoted wife, a nurturing mother of 7 children, and a cherished grandmother of 16 grandchildren, passed away in the early hours of August 24th, 2023, following a valiant battle with cancer. Born in 1949 in Council Bluffs, Iowa, Connie's journey was marked by a deep Christian faith and an unwavering commitment to family.
Connie's love story with her husband, Ronnie Lee Jones, began when they met at Fort Riley, Kansas, where Ronnie was stationed in the military. Their shared faith and desire for a large family cemented their bond, leading them to build a life filled with love and purpose.
A beacon of kindness and affection, Connie lovingly raised her 7 children: Amie [Jed] Holliday, Ronnie Jr. [Scarlett] Jones, Benjamin [Randall] Jones, Thomas Jones, Jessica Jones, John [Caroline] Jones, and Suzanne [Scottie] Blanton. Her heart overflowed with pride and joy as she embraced the role of grandmother to 16 adored grandchildren: Robert, Brianna, Meghan, Kirklin, Abigail, Annabelle, Taylor, Ethan, Weston, Cooper, Ashlee, Kassidy, Allie, Aidan, Avery, and Austin.
Amidst the seasons of life, Connie found solace and inspiration in the beauty of nature. Her free moments were devoted to tending her garden and observing the graceful dance of hummingbirds and cardinals.
Connie's commitment to her faith was exemplified by her active involvement in Calvary Baptist Church of King, where she diligently served as church clerk and dedicated her time to the church nursery. For 38 years, Connie and Ronnie were cherished members of the Calvary King community, and Connie frequently spoke of the profound place her church family held in her heart.
Connie was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Vallier and Dorothy Olney, her stepfather Scottie, and her siblings Judy Williams and Terry Vallier. She also mourned the loss of her grandson Avery Blanton, who went before her.
Connie Roberta Vallier Jones leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and unwavering devotion. Her warmth, kindness, and love for family will be deeply missed, but her spirit will forever resonate in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known her.
