Cortlen Matthew Dutton

Cortlen Matthew Dutton, 22, of King, NC, passed away unexpectedly on May 11, 2024.

Cortlen was born on August 29, 2001, in Forsyth County, NC, to Raymond and Kerrie Moore Dutton. He graduated from West Stokes High School in 2020 and was an outstanding athlete, lettering in lacrosse, baseball, basketball, and football. He also worked as a chef at JOLO Winery and Vineyards.

Cortlen's faith in God was the cornerstone of his life. He dedicated himself to spreading the word of God, a testament to his unwavering belief. His dedication extended to the fitness of mind, body, and soul. He was compassionate to all living things and loved by everyone who knew him. He was admired by family and friends and was dedicated to his friends and beloved family. He loved his family and friends like no other. Cortlen was very passionate about his cars, and he had a taste for a fast lifestyle. Cortlen lived his life his way.

Cortlen was preceded in death by his grandparents, Carol Moore, Ken Moore, Sr., and Robert Dutton, his uncle Shane Dutton, and a cousin, Easton Sunday.

Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Raymond and Kerrie Dutton; two brothers, Triston Dutton, and fiancé Alexia Campbell, and Mason Dutton and wife Camryn; a sister, Sydney Dutton; a nephew, Maverick Dutton; a niece on the way, and a niece or nephew on the way, his grandmother, Deborah McMahan; two aunts: Dana Fulk and fiancé Steven Phipps, and Kimberly Hall and husband Tommy; and an uncle, Ken Moore, and wife Mendy; along with his cousins: Taylor and Jamee, Haileigh, Ruthie and Ryan, Lakyn and Lukus, Tyler, Abbi, Jordan, Amber, Jaden, Karlee, R.G. and Lily, and many close special friends.

Cortlen will lie in state on Saturday, May 18, 2024, from 9:00 AM until 12:30 PM at the West Stokes High School gym. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 PM, with Pastor Eric Hardman officiating.

In lieu of flowers, Cortlen would have wanted donations to be made to your home church or the church of your choice.
