Curtis Reid Brown

Curtis Reid Brown passed away on August 30, 2024, at his home in King. He was 88 years old.

Curtis was born in King, NC, the only child of Callie Elizabeth and George Reid Brown. He graduated from King High School and served his country in the U.S. Army.

He was a faithful member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church and worked for R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. Curtis retired after 32 years of faithful service.

Curtis married Mary Sue Allen in July 1960; they shared 64 beautiful years of marriage. He had two boys, Chris Brown (Amy) and Craig Brown, along with four grandchildren: Seth Brown (Holly), Anna Brown, Chase Brown, and Hannah Denker (Mason). Curtis was deeply committed to his family and friends.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at Mount Zion United Methodist Church with Rev. Jeff Martin, Rev. Keith Newell, and Rev. Clyde Wayne Allen officiating, with visitation to follow the service.
