King – David James Collier, 49, of King, NC passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, January 23, 2022, at his home.
Mr. Collier was born on September 13, 1972, in Forsyth County, NC to the late Francis Gene Collier, and Sylvia Greenawalt Collier who survives. He was a branch manager with American General and later with, Beneficial. He was a previous member of the Goldsboro Lion’s Club, and a member of Quaker Gap Baptist Church.
Left to cherish his memory is his beloved mother, Sylvia G. Collier; his wife, Melanie Moseley Collier; two sons: Andrew “Drew” Wilson Collier, and Adam “Blake” Collier; two sisters: Melissa C. Hiatt and her husband Timothy Wayne Hiatt, and Merrie C. Tesh and her husband William Tesh; a brother, Douglas Blake Collier and his wife, Jami Phifer Collier; along with a host of nieces, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
The family will receive friends and loved ones from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, on Wednesday, January 26, 2022, at Slate Funeral Home in King.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, on Thursday, January 27, 2022, at Capella Church of Christ, 1187 Flat Shoals Rd. King, NC 27021, with Ministers Donald Davis and Jim Miller officiating. Pallbearers will be Jim Walton, Kevin Smith, Derrick Boyles, Brent Hughes, William Tesh, and Kenneth Golden.
