David Garland Ogburn

Tobaccoville – David Garland Ogburn, Sr., 72, of Tobaccoville, NC passed away on Monday, May 22, 2023, at SECU Hospice Center in Yadkinville, surrounded by loved ones.

Mr. Ogburn was born on November 30, 1950, to the late Billy Masten and Leo Jones Ogburn. David was a dedicated and faithful disciple of his Lord, Jesus Christ. He was a member of Mount Pleasant Methodist Church. He was forever a cowboy, who was a gentleman, a friend, a husband, a father, a Gangy, a man that treated everyone like family; he never met a stranger and was generous to a fault.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, William Masten Ogburn.

Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife of forty-eight years, Vickie Hauser Ogburn, two sons: Lil’ David Garland Ogburn, Jr. (Rebecca Ane, and children, Alice-Kay Emma-Katherine, Rocklyn Ane, and Khaki Masten) and Christopher Lee Ogburn, his daughter, Rebekah May, (Jeremy, and her daughter Preslee Harper), his fur baby “son” Trigger, a sister-in-law, Brenda Slate Ogburn, and several beloved nieces, nephews, and dear friends. He loved each and every one of them dearly.

The family will receive friends and loved ones on Thursday, May 25, 2023, from 11:00 AM until 12:00 Noon, at Mount Pleasant Methodist Church. Funeral services will begin at 12:00 PM, with David Joyce and Rev. Jenna Grogan officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
