Deborah "Debbie" Joan (Mara) Yates

Deborah Joan “Debbie” Yates, 72, of King, NC, passed away on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC.

Ms. Yates was born in Royal Oak, MI, on February 26, 1953. She retired from Hanes Brands and was a longtime member of King Christian Center. She enjoyed crocheting, but her greatest joy was found in her family; she dearly loved her children, grandchildren, and her great-grandchild.

Debbie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Roy Yates, and her sister, Ellen Kelly.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Toby Yates; her son, Jeremy Yates; her daughter, Stephanie Yates; her grandchildren: Angel Yates, Jordan Tucker (Brian), Jadon Yates, Mitchell Bodenhamer, and Silas Yates; and her great-grandson, Zaxton Tucker, and her best friend, Kelly Koontz.  

A private service will be held at a later date.
