Delia Mae Wilkes
July 7, 1929 – November 24, 2021
“Peace, Love, and Joy”
Delia Mae Wilkes, 92, of Rural Hall, NC went to her heavenly home November 24, 2021.
A graveside memorial service will be held November 30, 2021, at 11:00 AM at Crestview memorial park with Slate Funeral Home. Reverend Robert Lattimore will be officiating.
Receiving of family and friends will be at the family home after the service.
Mae was born July 7, 1929, in Robeson County to the late James and Delia Singletary.
Mae was preceded in death by her loving husband of 68 years, Robert Wilkes, son-in-law, Roy Bullins, 4 brothers, and 3 sisters.
Mae is survived by her daughter, Brenda Bullins, son, Bobby Wilkes (Deanna), grandchildren, Miranda and Brandon Wilkes, 4 sisters, and a large extended family.
Mae loved her family and wanted the best for them. She worked hard to take care of their needs. She was an excellent cook and a remarkable seamstress. She was a member of Germanton Baptist Church and attended many years until declining health. She enjoyed watching Dr. Charles Stanley.
Mae loved her Lord and Savior and was ready to go to her heavenly home. She loved to sing “When the Saints Go Marching In” and “Jesus Loves Me.” In her conversations with family and friends she would say, “Peace, Love, and Joy.” She will be missed by her family and friends; however, we know through Christ we will see her again.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Jefferson Christian Church: 8200 Jefferson Church Rd. Rural Hall, NC 27045, or to King Outreach Ministry: 221 Ingram Dr. King, NC 27021.
