Dewey Earl Brantley, 77, of King, NC, passed away on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem, NC.
Mr. Brantley was born in Forsyth County, NC, on January 3, 1948, to the late Clovis E. and Mary Melivina Groce Brentley. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Cooper Brantley of the home, a son, Thomas Baker Jr., and wife Jamie of Kingsville, MD, 2 grandsons, Thomas Baker III and James Baker, both of Kingsville, MD, and a nephew, L.T. Cooper of Manderville, LA.
Dewey was known as an encourager, especially to his wife. They enjoyed taking car rides together in the country and taking beautiful photos that would later be turned into quilts. He was a tax preparer for H&R Block in King for 18 years.
A memorial service to honor his memory will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Slate Funeral Home in King, with Bishop Beechard Moorefield officiating.
