Dr. James Edward Bell, 78, of Pfafftown, passed away unexpectedly on May 11, 2024, at his home in Pfafftown, NC. He was born in Pasadena, CA. He was the son of the late Homer Dwight and Norma Irene Gravette Bell and was the widower of the late Kathryn Bell. Mr. Bell held a PhD in Psychology. He was the Chief Psychologist at the Men's State Prison in Chino, California. Dr. Bell retired from the State of California and went on to be a professor in the same field of study employed by California State Polytechnic University in Pomona and California Baptist University. Mr. Bell proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War in the 82nd Airborne Division.
Mr. Bell was a true Christian gentleman who had a genuine love for the Lord; he gave a lifetime of service to Christ. Left to cherish his memories are his sons, Bryan Bell and wife Tammie, and Alan Rowe, daughter Kelly Carrasco, and grandchildren, Brooke Deaton and husband Michael; Morgan Barnard and husband Andrew; Mckenna Carrasco, Faith Sanchez-Carrasco, Amanda Marino and husband Louie; Matthew Gordon, Cody Bell, Paxton Gordon and wife Brittany, Caraline Barbarino, and husband Patrick, and Steven Rowe. Mr. Bell had 11 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 9:30 am on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, in the chapel of Slate Funeral Home in King, NC. A graveside service with military honors will be held at 1:00 pm at the Salisbury National Cemetery in Salisbury, NC. Slate Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Mr. James Edward Bell.
