Elihew "Eli" Gray

King – Elihew “Eli” Gray, 64, of King, NC, passed away on Monday, August 23, 2021, at his home.

Mr. Gray was born on November 13, 1956, in Letcher County, KY to the late Walter Eugene and Meldie Ghent Gray.  He was a member of Masonic Lodge 23 in Jacksonville, FL.  He was also a near professional fisherman who held several records in Florida.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers: Crawford, Walter, and Bill.

Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife of thirty-five years, Vickie Cardwell Gray; his son, Michael Thompson, and wife Misty; his sisters: Nancy Crotts, and Gay Young and husband Ken; a brother, Dennie Gray and wife Diane; and grandchildren: Austin Thompson, Mackenzie Thompson, and Logan Thompson.

For those wishing to pay their respects to Mr. Gray may do so from 2:00PM until 4:00PM on Sunday, August 29, 2021, at Slate Funeral Home in King.   No formal services will be held.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Mr. Grays wife. 

Family request that everyone wear a face covering while attending services.
