Ernest Martin McCoy

Ernest Martin McCoy, 90, of King, NC, passed away on Wednesday, May 21, 2026, at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center.

Mr. McCoy was born in Woodward, OK, on December 11, 1935, to the late Pat and Myrtle Drew McCoy. He proudly served in the US Navy, and he retired from Armtex, where he worked as a Systems Analyst. During the rare moments of spare time he had, thanks to raising three rambunctious boys, he was an avid woodworker.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Beverly Hill McCoy, and his sister, Darlene Decker.

Left to cherish his memory are his three sons: Ronnie McCoy (Allison), Brent McCoy (Lisa), and Mark McCoy; three grandchildren: Kelly McCoy, Wes McCoy, and Tristan McCoy; three great-grandchildren: Gio, Oakley, and Alora Ivy; and a sister, Beverly Chapman.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at Crestview Memorial Park in Rural Hall, with military honors provided by the American Legion Post 290 Honor Guard.
