King – Gary Wayne Martin, 56, of King, NC passed away Tuesday, April 7, 2020, at his home with his loved ones by his side.
Gary was born on October 13, 1963, in Wilmington, DE to Carroll E. and Mildred Sumner Martin. He was a member of Old Time Baptist Church, and he enjoyed volunteering his time to assist people with tax filing. He loved music and old comedy movies.
Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Carroll and Mildred Sumner, his brother, Glenn Martin and wife Carolene, and nieces: Sarah and Rebekah.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Well Care Hospice for the kind and gentle care they provided for Gary.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, April 10, 2020, at the Wilson Family Cemetery in Fancy Gap, VA. Gary will lie in state on Thursday, April 9, 2020, from 11:00 AM until 5:00 PM at Slate Funeral Home.
