Gloria Leota (Gordon) Smith

Gloria Gordon Smith, 75, of King, NC passed away on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.

Gloria was born in Forsyth County, NC to the late Elmer and Eldee Adams Gordon.  She was a former Ticket Agent for US Airways, and also a Real Estate Agent. She previously served as the financial secretary of Southeast Stokes Middle School and King Elementary School. She was a member of First Baptist Church of King, where she also served as the financial secretary.  

She found great joy in spending time with her grandchildren, enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, and reading. She was a collector of Mickey and Minnie Mouse items, Coke-A-Cola products, and ceramic clowns.

Left to cherish her memory is her beloved husband, David Smith; two sons, Ryan Hampton Smith, and Adam David Smith (Amanda); a brother, Robert Edward Gordon (Sherri), two sisters: Jane Taylor Wilson, and Janet Gordon Hall (George); her grandchildren: Lillian Claire Smith and Hudson David Smith; and an aunt, Lee Ila Gordon; along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

The family would like to extend a Special “Thank You” to the nursing staff of Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.

The family will receive friends and loved ones on Sunday, August 20, 2023, from 2:00 PM until 3:30 PM at First Baptist Church of King. Funeral services will begin at 3:30 PM, on Sunday, August 20, 2023, at First Baptist Church of King, with Rev. Caleb Waller officiating. Interment will immediately follow at King Memorial Park.

Flowers are appreciated, or memorial donations may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund, St. Jude, or to First Baptist Church of King.
