Grady Lee Tuttle died December 5, 2021, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home.
Mr. Tuttle was born in Stokes County, NC to Ernest Austin and Ester Jane Black Tuttle. He was predeceased by his parents; his wife of sixty years, Audrey Spainhour Tuttle; his son, Charles Leonard “Pete” Tuttle; his brothers: William “Bill” Tuttle, Ray Jackson “Jack” Tuttle, and two infant brothers; along with his great granddaughter, Jessie Marie Brickey.
Grady is survived by his son, Donald Lee Tuttle, and wife Nancy; daughter, Sandra Jean Kiger and husband Bill; grandchildren: Julie Tackett, Karen “Joe” Brickey, Lori Wall, Austin Kiger (Jessica), and Audrey Monty (Michael); great grandchildren: Zackary Tackett, Brittany and Brooke Brickey, Dillon, Cameron, and Bethany Wall, and Lilly and Bella Monty; step great grandchildren: Caleb and Brantley Monty; sisters: Mildred “Cindy” Butner, and Nellie Jean Pursley.
Grady served in the United States Army. He retired from R.J. Reynolds with thirty years of service. Grady coached Little League Baseball and umpired softball for thirty years. He was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church for eighty years.
Visitation will be Wednesday, December 8, 2021, at Slate Funeral Home from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 9, 2021, at 11:00 am at Mountainview Baptist Church with Rev. Paul Norman officiating, military rites provided by American Legion Post 290.
