Harry Gray Bennett

King- Harry Gray Bennett, 78, of King, NC passed away peacefully at his home on the morning of Monday, February 8th, 2021.

Harry was born on January 30, 1943 in Stokes County to the late Thomas (Buck) Bennett and Lillian Moser. He was the youngest of six boys.

Harry married his wife and best friend Dorothy (Dot) Fishel Bennett on November 30, 1963 and they had three children together: Donna, Tony and Dwayne. Harry and Dot were married for fifty-seven years and two months and shared a wonderful life together. Harry was a parts manager at Parkway Ford for fifty years and two months before he retired.

In addition to his parents, Harry was preceded in death by his son, Tony Bennett, and four brothers: his infant brother Romeo, T.A., Hassell, and Rex Bennett.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife Dorothy (Dot) Fishel Bennett, daughter Donna Bennett Heath (Bobby), son Dwayne and fiancé Lorrie, granddaughters Brittany Heath Stafford (Jesse), Haley Bennett, and Kelsey Martin, grandsons Bradley Heath (Heather), Austin (AJ) Bennett (Kevyn), Toby Bennett and Kayden Sechrist, as well as four great grandchildren Brody, Brixley, Brevyn Stafford, and Anna Kate Heath, brother Max H. Bennett, stepsister Margo (Bunny) Kakouras and sister-in-law Gladys Bennett.

A funeral service for Mr. Bennett will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at Slate Funeral Home, 132 E. Dalton Rd.  King, NC,  with pastor Gilbert Cox officiating.
