Howard Franklin Thomas,85, of King passed away surrounded by his family on August 3, 2022, at his home.
Born in Stokes County to the late Roscoe and Mary Alice Boles Thomas, he was the widower of the late Alice Fay Turney Thomas and was also preceded by a brother; Henry “Duck” Thomas, and a sister; Thelma Fletcher. Mr. Thomas was a farmer and loved watching racing and going to Bowman Gray he also loved watching westerns and having his family over on Sundays. He was also a member of King Community Church.
Left to cherish his memory is his sons; Gary (Sally), Ricky, and Dannie Thomas. Daughters; Frankie Wagoner and Faylene (Jackie) Hall, sisters; Ruby Turney and Shirley McMillion. Also surviving are his grandchildren; Scott (Kelly) Thomas, Tami (Josh) Douglas, Kathy Wagoner, D.J. Wagoner, Derick Hall, Kayla (Trevor) Ladislas, and twelve great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends and loved ones from 6:00 – 8:00 pm on Friday, August 5, 2022, at Slate Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, August 6, 2022, in the Slate Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ken Marshall officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity United Methodist Church Cemetery.
At other times the family will be at the home of Gary Thomas.
