James Kenneth Kimbrell

James Kenneth Kimbrell, Jr., affectionately known as “Ken,” a devoted husband, loving father, and proud United States Navy veteran, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of honor, strength, and compassion that will endure in the hearts of all who knew him.

Born with a quiet determination and a servant’s heart, Ken lived his life with purpose and integrity. He answered his country’s call by serving in the United States Navy, where he formed lifelong friendships, learned the value of discipline and duty, and upheld his commitment to protecting the freedoms we cherish. His service remained a deep source of pride throughout his life, and he often spoke of the lessons, memories, and camaraderie he found while in uniform.

Above all, Ken was a family man. A steady and loving husband, he was a true partner in every sense of the word - supportive, dependable, and devoted. As a father, he led by example, teaching patience, responsibility, and kindness through his daily actions more than through words. His family will forever remember his wisdom, his gentle humor, and the unwavering support he provided through every stage of their lives.

Ken will be remembered for his gentle spirit, his strong work ethic, and the respect he showed to everyone he encountered. Whether lending a helping hand, sharing a story from his service, or simply sitting quietly with those he loved, he had a remarkable ability to make others feel valued and understood.

He leaves behind a legacy rich in love, service, and quiet strength—one that will continue to guide and inspire those fortunate enough to have known him. 

Ken was preceded in death by his parents, James “Gray” Kimbrell and Mallie Belle Kimbrell. His loving wife, Kay Kimbrell. Siblings, Phil Kimbrell, Ronald Kimbrell, Yvonne Murray, Becky Kimbrell, and Steven Kimbrell. 

Left to cherish his memory are his children, James K. Kimbrell, III (Shelly), Tyra Kimbrell, Curtis Kimbrell (Deborah), Steve Kimbrell (Stacey), Brian Alexandra, Joel Alexandra (Mindi), and Michael Alexandra, Grandchildren, Whitney Carlson (Cole), Lindsey Kimbrell, Cass Kimbrell (Christina), Samantha Alexandra, Christopher Alexandra (Victoria), Kristina Kimbrell (John), Jamie Alexandra, Taylor Alexandra Doomy (Andrew), Brooke Judie (Virginia), August Kimbrell, Bianca Judie, Dominic Alexandra (Kimberly), Austin Kimbrell (Coby), and Asha Kimbrell, Siblings, Robert Kimbrell (Charlie), Russell Kimbrell (Letty), and Angela Kimbrell, And a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
