Jeanette Harrell Reid, 77, of King, passed away on Monday, December 23, 2024, at King Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Born in Surry County She was the daughter of the late Arthur Robert Harrell and the late Willie Ruth Brown Childress and was the widow of the late John Henry Reid and was preceded by her daughter Andrea Cain and her sister Judy Aguilar.
Jeanette was a very friendly lady with a natural instinct to befriend any and all in her path and was an inquisitive and curious social butterfly who enjoyed connecting with people and always wanted to know your name. She loved shopping for clothes and shoes, collecting many things, giving gifts to her loved ones, and spoiling her grandsons. She truly loved her family, whom she considered her greatest accomplishment, wholeheartedly.
Left to cherish her memory is her daughters Shari Lowell and husband Michael, and Amanda Driver and husband Donny, brother, Linwood “Buck” Brown and wife Penny, and sisters Gaynell Hendrix and Patricia Fain. Also surviving are her grandchildren Johnathan, Bradley, Luke Turner and wife Summer and Andrew Manuel. Along with great- grandchildren, Madisyn Cromer, Hunter and Ryder Barneycastle.
The family will receive friends and loved ones on Saturday, December 28, 2024, from 10:00 – 11:00 am at Slate Funeral Home. A graveside funeral service will be held at 12:00pm at Boyles Chapel Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with Elder Jeff Whittaker officiating.
