Jeannette (Whetstone) Smith

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Lenna Jeannette Whetstone Smith of King, North Carolina, who passed away on February 12, 2025, at the age of 76, leaving her family and friends to mourn. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Helen Whetstone, and her sister, Jackie Whetstone James.

She is survived by her husband, Larry Ray Smith, and her children, Derek Smith (Jadee) and Alise Blackburn (Scott), and her grandchildren, Nicholas Blackburn, Gracie Blackburn, Sadie Smith, and Bailey Smith. And brothers, Jimmy Whetstone (Penny), Paul Whetstone (Donna) and Dwayne Whetstone. And a brother-in-law, Frank James.

The family will receive friends on Friday, February 14, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Slate Funeral Home in King.

The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation and gratitude to the staff at Rose Tara Senior Living in King. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice or Chestnut Grove Church Cemetery.
