Jimmy "J.C." Clayton Vernon

Jimmy “J.C.” Clayton Vernon, 28, of King, NC passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, June 9, 2022, at his home. 

J.C. was born on January 5, 1994, in Forsyth County, NC to Jimmie Wayne Vernon and Tilda Smith Vernon.  He was a member of Willing Vessels Christian Center. 

J.C. was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Carl Lee Smith and, Jimmie Vernon, and his uncle Ricky King.

Left to cherish his memory is his mother, Tilda Smith Vernon; his father, Jimmie Wayne Vernon (Angela); the mother of his children and true love, Amy Lynn White; his children: Jaxson Lee, Michael Blake, Colton Lane, and Bailey Reese; his sister, Shannen Anissa Vernon; a half-brother, Levi Alexander Long Vernon; his grandmothers: Betty Smith “Granny”, and Christine Vernon “Grandma”; his uncle, James L. King; his nieces, Brooklyn Rae, and Chanclior Jo; along with his best friends Jessie King, Cody Holt, and Chris Oranday, and his beloved dog, Otis.

The family will receive friends and loved ones from 12:30 PM until 2:00 PM on Wednesday, June 15, 2022, at Slate Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, June 15, 2022, at Slate Funeral Home with Pastor Garry Adkins officiating.  Interment will follow in the Flippin Family Cemetery, on Covington Rd. in King, NC.
