John Kirby Martin

John Kirby Martin, 74, of Pinnacle, NC went home to be with his Lord on Saturday, February 25, 2023, at his home surrounded by those he loved dearly.  Although our hearts are broken, we celebrate, that today, John is standing in the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

John was born on December 23, 1948, in Stokes County, NC to the late Harry and Ruth Kirby Martin.  John proudly served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He was a member of Harvest Time Church of God for thirty years, where he found great joy in serving and ministering.  He greeted each and every person that walked through the doors every Sunday, with a smile on his face. He humbly served as an usher and every Christmas he made treat bags for all of the children.

John was truly a sincere Christian man who would do anything he could to serve his friends and neighbors. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

John loved his family, he is survived by his wife of eight years, Gaynelle Smith Martin; his daughter, Rochelle Tuttle (Jeff); a sister, Judy Oakley (Lonnie); his grandchildren: Cole Tuttle (Megan), and Eric Tuttle; a stepdaughter, Tina Stevens; a stepson, Alvin Greg Moser; six step-grandchildren, and six step-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends and loved ones from 12:00 pm until 1:45 pm on Monday, February 27, 2023, at Harvest Time Church of God 312 Newsome Rd. King, NC.

Funeral services will begin at 2:00 pm at Harvest Time Church of God with Pastor Rob Sizemore, and Pastor Chris Peagler officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Trinity United Methodist Church 725 W. Dalton Rd. King, NC.
