John Chris Clark “Papa John”, 80, passed away peacefully on July 12, 2023, at Kate B Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston Salem, NC after complications from kidney cancer.
John was born in Newport News, Virginia on August 20, 1942. He was the son of George Clark and Ruth Huber Clark. He met his wife, Lynne, in Roanoke, VA and they were married on July 31, 1976. John worked for Lone Star Cement as a sales representative and was transferred to NC in 1983.
He is survived by his wife Lynne, son Kenneth Chad Clark (Laura) of Wilmington, NC, daughter Emily Clark Snow (Cory) of King, NC, and three grandchildren Audrie, Reese, and Colby Snow.
John enjoyed cooking, and saltwater fishing with his brother-in-law at the Outer Banks of NC. In his earlier years, he enjoyed waterskiing, umpiring little league baseball, and playing tennis and golf.
At John’s request, there will be no funeral service. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of John can be made to Kate B. Reynolds Hospice House by visiting trellissupport.org and select Donate.
