Johnny Ray Pegram, Sr.

Johnny Ray Pegram, Sr., 67 of King, NC passed away on Wednesday, November 15, 2023, at Forsyth Medical Center Winston Salem, NC.

Mr. Pegram was born on November 7, 1956, in Forsyth County, NC, to the late Mick Jarvis and Edit Hall Pegram. He was a US Army Veteran, a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church, and he retired from RJ Reynolds.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of forty-six years, Betty Jane Edwards Pegram; a grandson, William Vernon; a brother, Ricky Pegram; and a sister, Wanda Lawson.

Left to cherish his memory is his son, Jonny Ray Pegram, Jr. and wife Deinna; a daughter, Tamatha Pegram and fiancé Brandon Wheeler; five grandchildren: Catherine, Brittany, Wesley, Jessie, and Aiden; and seven great-grandchildren: Kayden, Jayden, Connor, Jax, Carly, Kolby, and Oakley.

The family will receive friends and loved ones from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM on Saturday, November 18, 2023, at Slate Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at 12:30 PM at the Priddy Family Cemetery.
