Kermit Ellsworth Wall, a cherished father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 12, 2025, at the age of 88. Born on March 29, 1937, Kermit's life was a testament to his enduring faith, love for his family, and dedication to his community.
Kermit's journey began as the beloved son of Porter Wall and Georgia Arrington Wall McCollum, who, along with his step-father Curtis McCollum, instilled in him the values of hard work and compassion. Though his parents and his devoted wife, Donnie Booze Wall, as well as his sister, Janet Brown, preceded him in death, their influence shone brightly throughout his life.
A father to his daughters, Robin "Tona" Leitner (Tim) and Suzanne Wall Griffin, Kermit's legacy of kindness lives on through them. His granddaughter, Olivia Livingston, will forever cherish the wisdom and joy he imparted.
Kermit's professional life was characterized by a long and fulfilling career at Merita Bread Company, from which he retired after many years of dedicated service. His work ethic and amiable nature made him a respected figure among his colleagues and within the industry.
A man of deep Christian faith, Kermit's commitment to his beliefs was evident in his active involvement in church life. He directed music at multiple churches, sharing his love for sacred melodies and uplifting the spirits of congregations with his musical talents. His faith was his compass, guiding him through life's challenges and joys.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 16, 2025 from 1pm-3pm at Slate Funeral Home in King, NC. A private family burial will be held.
