Kevin Samuel Fortune

Kevin Samuel Fortune, 42 a resident of Pinnacle, North Carolina passed away unexpectedly Friday July 24th at Forsyth Novant Medical Center.

He was born August 30, 1977 in Winston Salem, North Carolina to Father Samuel & Rhonda Fortune and Mother Rebecca Haley. Kevin was an active member of We Are Forgiven Ministries, in Mount Airy, North Carolina.  His heart was in Homeless Ministry, Prison Ministry, and Honoring our Veterans. He was a mechanic by heart, and a body man by trade he worked at Harris Body Shop. When not working he enjoyed time with his family camping, fishing, hunting, and playing with RC cars with his children and grandchildren. He was a loving Son, Husband, Father, and Grandfather. He was always ready and willing to help anyone.

Kevin is survived by his wife of 23 years, LeeAnn Inman Fortune; whom he married on September 21, 1996. He is also survived by a daughter Angel (Tanner) Simcox of Mount Airy, and two sons Kevin Thomas Fortune, and Michael Seth Fortune of Pinnacle, two grandchildren Tanner Ryan Simcox Jr., and Sophia Marie Simcox; his Grandmother Brenda Moorefield; his Father Samuel and Rhonda Fortune of King North Carolina, and mother Rebecca Haley of Winston Salem, three brothers: Jason (Kari) Fortune of Belews Creek, Joshua Fortune of King, and Robert (Suzy) Haley of Winston Salem, North Carolina; one sister Rebecca (Jeffrey) Moser of King North Carolina, and many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.

He was proceeded in death by a child Alex Fortune; his grandfather Eugene and grandmother Dorothy Fortune, grandfather Foy (Shink) Moorefield, and grandfather Elbert and grandmother Stella Haley.

The family will receive friends and loved ones Friday, July 31, 2020 from 9:00 AM until 12:00 N at Slate Funeral Home, 132 E. Dalton Rd. King, NC.  Social Distancing will be required.  

A Graveside service will take place at 3:00 PM Friday, July 31 2020 at Skyline Memory Garden, 432 Old Buck Shoals Rd Mt. Airy, NC.  with Rev. Timothy Collins officiating.
